Curly Quote of the Week

I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it's such a beautiful animal.

There you go.

I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her.

Have a custom made Pug Portrait

One of our very talented volunteers, Mary Beth, has been incredibly generous by donating her talents and efforts in yet another way to Curly Tail & to help pugs in need.  Mary Beth has been busy at work in her studio on the Cape, not only fostering many of our most needy dogs but painting beautiful portraits of our volunteers pugs.  She has been doing this as a unique & heartfelt way to show appreciation to many of our dedicated members.

Mary Beth is an incredibly, wonderful and caring person with a tremendously huge heart & soul for animals and people alike!!!  She is always so positive and thinking of how she can help and do more for rescue.  She has graciously offered those same one of a kind portraits to all the pug people out there who are as crazy for their pups as we are!

Mary Beth needs only a photograph of your furry companion to create these truly one of a kind portraits.  She takes the image and adds artistic flare and detail per the owners request and style direction.

Have your little ones join our Curly Kids Program

Curly Kids is a division of Curly Tail focused on involving young people in rescue activity.  We feel strongly about educating kids about the proper care of their pets, the importance of animal rescue and being a volunteer in your community.  It is a great way for young people to do something positive independently or a great way to do something good as a family!

Here are just a few of the ways our Curly Kids help:

  • Make Curly Kid Thank You Cards for people who donate - this can be done from home with your child!!!!
  • Posting Curly Tail Fliers at their schools and other public venues
  • Join us at local Curly Tail Events and help the volunteers look after the pugs

Donate an item from our Curly General Care wish list
  • Step In Adjustable Harnesses - Size M (Used or New)
  • 4" leashes (Used or New)
  • Baby Blankets (we have our fosters sleep with them & send them to their adoptive homes to help w/ the transition)
  • Pee Pee Pads
  • Petco Gift Card
  • Petsmart e-Gift certificate
  • CVS Gift Card
  • Crates (size Medium)

Are you Crafty?

Make some doggie-type crafts to donate. These do very well at our fund raising events and sell in our Curly Store. One of our volunteers makes doggie blankets, another makes doggie beds...some make belly bands.

Have a lot of extra fabric and stuffing? Make some doggie toys! We can sell or raffles these items and earn a few extra dollars for the pugs.

Help with Transport

Do you have a car?  Do an hour free to help during the day or on the weekends on occasion?  Help by transporting pugs from shelters to foster homes, or back and forth to the vet for treatments.

We save some much money by working with the vets that provide us with rescue discounts and getting those dogs safely to the vet is an important part of the care our foster dogs need and you can help.....by simply driving your car!!!!!!

Visit our Volunteer Page to find out the many different ways you can help!

Every bit helps and every penny goes directly to the care of our rescue pugs.

*Donations are not considered tax deductible at this time.

However, we are officially incorporated & licensed to do business in NY and MA.

Any donations made now will be tax deductible, retroactively, as long as we obtain our 501(c)3 status within 27 mos. of our incorporation date.

NY & MA are the 2 central locations for all adoptions and business activities.

Ever wonder if you are donating to the correct organization or if anyone is accountable for the money that is being donated?

We get asked this question all the time. You always want to contribute money to an organization that is at least a 501(c)3 Non-Profit. That is a basic....but not the whole picture....

• If an organization tells you that they are becoming a 501(c)3 Non-Profit, ask to see their EIN #, their Certificate of Incorporation or license to do business in their respective state....even what state they are licensed to do business in.  That way you can look them up yourself!

• You need to have these items in place in order to become a 501(c)3 status organization. Anyone can say they have it, or in the process of getting it, and being one of those groups....we now know what things to look for!
