Rex is an old soul.  He is a sweet boy, but is no pushover around his foster brother and sister pug, even though his hearing and vision aren't what they used to be.  When Rex arrived, we thought he was completely blind and deaf.  After a few days, and a little tender loving care, he trusted us and started showing us just how well he can navigate his surroundings.

Rex doesn't move as fast as his younger pug foster siblings, but he is spirited and works very hard to keep up with their pace. He is comfortable sleeping in a crate, but is very happy in his own room where he can walk around and adjust his sleeping position throughout the night.  He can't jump up or down, so sleeping in your bed might be too dangerous for Rex.  He did like to sleep on the floor in the bedroom with one of his foster mommy's.   Either way, he is just fine.

Rex enjoys his bath and let's his foster mom wash him without any complaints-usually twice a week.  He really appreciates this.  When he is dry, he LOVES to have his back scratched.

He also takes thyroid medication with his food every day.

Rex would do well in most environments, as he just wants to be part of the landscape and get a little attention from someone who loves him.   Overly energetic dogs are difficult for Rex, but laid back dogs are no problem.  Being an only dog where Rex gets all your attention would be heaven for this little guy who will follow you around the house, and outside while you go for a walk.

Rex would love to be a part of a gentle home with an attentive human.  Stairs are not possible for Rex.  Your flexible work schedule would probably be best for him, but he does well sleeping alone for 9+ hours each day at his foster home while he searches for his forever mommy or daddy.  Rex does need his sleep.  He is a seasoned gentleman, after all.
