Featuring• OWNER & DOG LOOK-A-LIKE CONTEST1000 PUGS PROJECT Photoshoot 2012 TOUR!!! 1000 Pugs is the ultimate expression of pug love by San Francisco pet photographer, Amanda Bradshaw. Her goal is equal parts genius, ridiculous and insane: to artfully photograph 1000 pugs… in a single year.
1 photographer- 1 year -1000 pugs- $10,000 for pug rescue
The goal of the, uh, goal is three-fold: - use 1000 Pugs as a vehicle to raise money for pug rescue ($10k, to be exact) - create the ultimate celebration of all things pug - showcase the largest single collection of pug cuteness this world has ever seen (in both on-line and printed form)
And will be split into two distinct phases:
2012 / Phase 1: the shooting of the pugs Photoshoots will focus on capturing and celebrating the irresistibly freaky uniqueness that makes a pug a pug. Each pug photographed will appear in the 1000 Pugs online gallery and $10 per pug will be donated to participating pug rescues.
2013 / Phase 2: the book
New York Plans for this leg of the tour are still in the works… but we’ve got dates! Specific shoot locations and a reminder will be sent out a week before registration opens. To avoid the mayhem we experienced in round one, registration will be divided by city. Seattle set the record in the first round by selling out in less than 10 minutes, so mark your calendars! The date for NY/NJ’s registration is MAY 2nd, 11 am Eastern Time. Please understand that we are a VERY small staff and things are 1000x more involved when you’re talking about 1000 pugs, +1000 humans and 10+ cities. We appreciate your patience and support as things move forward! How much does a 1000 Pugs photoshoot cost and what’s included?
The sitting fee for a 1000 Pugs photoshoot is $50 ($10 from your sitting fee will be donated to pug rescue). The sitting fee goes to support this project and includes:
- 15 minutes of the photographer’s time & talent Your pug will also appear in the 1000 pugs online gallery and is guaranteed a place in the 2013 book (images chosen by photographer). Prints and other premium products will be available for purchase at specially discounted prices.
2012 Pugs and Kisses
Thank you to all of the volunteers and supporters who came out to attend our 3rd annual "Pugs and Kisses" event! It was so much fun meeting everyone and seeing the pugs! Not to mention a wonderful success, raising much needed funds for our homeless pugs! We can't wait until next year so we can do it all over again!!
