Thanks to all of you who were able to come out and join us at the NYC Pug Halloween meetup!! Here is a summary of the excitement:

* 60 pugs participated in this year's costume contest
* 17 prizes were awarded
* 10 members won bags of Nutro food
* Curly Tail Pug Rescue raised $310
* 17 pugs sat for mini photo sessions with Ixiana Hernandez
* 1 full year of Meetup.com fees were paid
* Nutro pet products gave members additional goody bags

We also hope to have a link to the photos taken by Creature Feature Pet Photography later in the week.

Curly Tail New Jersey Pug Meet Up - Pug O Ween Parade

Admission to the Pet Fair is FREE!

This event will be held at Hubbard Park with the intent for everyone to find out more about their pets, have fun through interactive events and, most importantly, become aware of the Meriden Humane Society’s needs and the numerous animal adoption agencies that are available in our region.

Rocky the Rock Cat will kick off the the day with a 2 mile Dog Walk. Pre-registration is available (Dog walk preregistration link) although registration can be done the day of the event from 9:00am - 9:45am. The Dog Walk will kick off the event at 9:55am as you walk through the park and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage. First 100 entrants will receive a goody bag for both owners and dogs to enjoy. (Limit one goody bag per entry) First 250 entrants will recieve one free bandana for their furry friend. Additional bandanas can be purchased for $5.00 the day of the event.

MA June 7, 2009 Whisker Walk  (11am - 3pm) - Walk Starts at Noon  ****RAIN or SHINE****

 

• Open to the public at 11am.  Walk starts at noon (you do not have to walk, just come enjoy the day).  Event ends at 3 p.m.

"The Whisker Walk is a fun day for families and their dog, PLUS, a dog walk-a-thon fundraiser to benefit animal shelters and rescue groups throughout New England.  The Whisker Walk 08 brought in almost a HUNDRED animal rescue groups, pet related vendors/manufacturers and sponsor for the first of its kind "event not to be missed" for pet lover.  The 2009 Whisker Walk is sure to be bigger and better!" Curly Tail has become apart of the

Best Friends Network through the Best Friends Animal Society in order to support the lobbying of puppy mill puppies sold through pet stores.

Protest Location:  American Kennels is 798 Lexington Avenue

             - Curly Tail Presence: 2-4pm to prevent our dogs from getting over exposure to the heat.
